Dear members of the Bosch Alumni Network,
MitOst e.V. and the iac Berlin hereby cordially invite you to the kick-off meeting of the Bosch Alumni Network’s Civil Society Cluster in Berlin, Germany, from June 24 to 26, 2018. We would like to kick-start the Cluster with up to 30 members representing the different programs and the regional & thematic diversity of the network. If you want to contribute to the process of designing the focus and activities of the cluster please apply via this link, no later than May 16th, 2018.
In an increasingly complex world, the context for civil society is rapidly changing: political and economic powers, demographic shifts, climate change, and emerging digital and social technologies, pose challenges, create opportunities and require rapid adaptation of communities.
In this new reality, civil society actors become facilitators, conveners, innovators, advocates and service providers; they blur the boundaries between sectors and experiment with new organizational forms, both online and offline.
The Civil Society Cluster connects those representatives of the Bosch Alumni Network working on the pressing societal challenges across the globe. The kick-off meeting will describe and discuss the status quo of civil society around the world. It offers space to reflect on urgent issues connected to civil society and its actors in different countries, to explore the critical uncertainties and to identify potentials and new mechanisms to strengthen the accountability of civil society. The kick-off meeting brings together a group of up to thirty civil society actors from different countries to serve as a starting point for further activities within the cluster.
The idea of Civil Society Cluster was born within the Bosch Alumni Network, it was further shaped in close collaboration between iac Berlin and MitOst e.V. MitOst was founded by alumni of the Robert Bosch Stiftung in 1996 and today the association is an international non-profit NGO based in Berlin that promotes cultural exchange and active citizenship in Europe and its neighboring regions, with a focus on Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. MitOst creates innovative spaces for qualification and serves as a platform for new forms of social engagement. MitOst will take the coordinating role within the Civil Society Cluster of the Bosch Alumni Network.
The language of the kick-off is English. Travel costs and all costs during the meeting will be covered.
Please apply via this link, no later than May 16, 2018. We will select up to 30 participants according to their experiences and also taking into account the diversity of the group.
