Bosch Alumni take on the world of podcasting

Dec 05, 2018

This fall, two new podcasts series were launched by our alumni:  Project Ungoverned? and Step One. They are available on all dedicated podcast apps, so check them out and subscribe!

Project Ungoverned? was initiated by Kim Ochs and Nicole Harkin. Kim has been working in the field of online education internationally for more than a decade, and Nicole is an award winning writer and trained lawyer.

With online learning on the rise globally, questions of educational quality and legitimacy have emerged, as well as calls to explore governance. Which ethical principles guide this growing field? Which existing governance challenges need to be revisited? Which new mechanisms need to be developed? Is online learning becoming more ungoverned as it expands, across formal and informal education?

The team of Project Ungoverned? set out to explore these questions with educators, learners, industry leaders, and experts in two phases: a podcast series which just started this November and a one-day virtual symposium (January 2019).  You can find out more about the project and podcast at: projectungoverned.com

Step One tells stories from the Bosch Alumni Network and follows network members across the globe to learn more about their stories, ideas and projects.

In Autumn of 2017, alumni Jelena Prtoric, Benjamin Lorch and Yannic Hannebohn met in New York City.  Ten international journalists and podcasting enthusiasts had gathered for the Bosch Alumni Network Study Trip: NYC, Capital of Podcasting.  The rolling symposium was organized by Thomas Reintjes and Jelena.  Over four intense days full of meetings and introductions the group covered the city to met with top players in the podcasting production world.

Back in Berlin, three months later, it was time to take the next step and the Step One podcast was born. Find out more about their podcast at: stepone.berlin

Stay tuned for the next episodes of Project Ungoverned? and Step One!
